A DIY store or builders merchant will give you cheaper products, generally of a lower quality with very limited service. The range of furniture appliances and accessories is often limited, as many quality suppliers will not supply non-specialist outlets.
A local builder, fitter or handyman can often give you an excellent installation service but will not have the necessary design expertise or the range of products that you may require. In any event they must source these products from a third party so you will inevitably pay more.
A traditional kitchen specialist will sometimes offer you a full service and a bigger range of products but will be more expensive because of the increased overheads that they inevitably carry.
